Before ordering

Since July 1, 2021, some countries of the European Union have decided to apply additional VAT charges on parcels coming from areas outside the EU (including Japan).

Countries like Switzerland, Canada or the United Kingdom are not concerned, because they are not members of the EU.

Although we haven't had any issue for the vast majority of our orders, as the tax is paid in Japan at the time of dispatch, we ask you to keep in mind that we have no control over the application or not of these customs fees.

The recipient is responsible for paying the amount request by the postal service and Tokyo Snack Box cannot reimburse you for these charges.

The monthly box is sent once a month, at the end of the month, for everyone at the same time. So if you order the monthly box for the month of March, your box will be sent at the end of February, for reception at the beginning of March.

When you subscribe to Tokyo Snack Box, you will continue to receive snack boxes for as long as you want. These are based on the plan you chose when you first ordered.

Your payment information is saved (and encrypted so we don't have access to it) and you will be automatically debited every 20th of the month (or 3/6 months depending on the formula chosen).

Renewal is automatic but without commitment,so you can cancel or pause it at any time from your client area, before the 20th day of the renewal month.It is also possible to change your subscription, if you prefer another option, again from your customer interface.

Examples:

Monthly Subscription: You order the August monthly box for 1 month. You buy it on July 15, 2022, you will receive one box per month as long as the subscription is active. The next debit will be on August 20, 2022 (for the September box). If necessary, you must therefore cancel or pause the subscription before August 19, 2022.

Quarterly subscription: you order the monthly box for August, 3-month option. You buy it on July 15, 2022 so you will receive one box per month for 3 months (August, September, October). The next debit will be on October 20, 2022, for the November, December and January boxes, at the same pricing. If necessary, you must therefore cancel or pause the subscription before October 19, 2022.

Semi-annual subscription: you order the monthly box for the month of August, 6-month option. You buy it on July 15, 2022, you will receive one box per month for 6 months (August, September, October, November, December, January). The next debit will be on October 20, 2022, for the following 6 months, at the same pricing. You will therefore need to cancel or pause the subscription before January 19, 2023.

You can order Kit Kat, Umaibo, Conbini, Manganime boxes and snacks from the snack market without subscription.

Regarding the monthly japanese box, it's a subscription without engagement, which means you can unsubscribe right after your first order. You will receive the box of the current month and that's it.

To cancel your subscription, everything happens in your Customer Area,> "My Subscription".

In some but not all!

For the moment we can ship to Reunion Island, Martinique, Guadeloupe, French Guyana, Wallis and Futuna.

Shipments take a little longer than a shipment to mainland France/Europe, but packages arrive at your home on average within 3 weeks (don't worry, snacks are good for at least 3 months).

For every box we send, we try to add the snack list, as well as the allergens. If needed, you can contact us before we ship your box, to let us know your allergens/diet, so that we may replace the snacks.

By default our boxes are not halal. But we are happy to replace some snacks containing meat or alcohol by others, so that you can still enjoy the Tokyo Snack Box experience!

If you would like to gift some of our products and to customize the package with a message inside, it is possible at no additional cost. In order to do that, please reach out to us at gift@tokyosnackbox.comafter your purchase. You can send the message in the language you prefer, and we can even translate it to Japanese.

Of course, we can ship the box of snacks directly to the person you want to gift it to. You just need to write his/her shipping address at checkout, and use your address as billing address.

We do accept special orders! For example, if you want a big box for your company, for your summer camp etc... or if you want to buy boxes in bulk for an event.

After your order

To create an account and manage your subscription, simply go to on this page and enter your personal information and a password. You absolutely must use the same email address as when you ordered.

Once connected, go to your Customer Area, click on "My Subscription", then on the subscription number (example: # 21692581).

A new page will appear, from which you can pause, modify or cancel your subscription.

We process orders in two ways:

- The following boxes : Kit Kat Box, Umaibox and Conbini Box are normally processed within a maximum of 5 days. As the post office is closed on weekends and public holidays, it can sometimes take a little longer.

As for the monthly boxes, they are all sent at the same time, at the end of the month. If you have any doubts, all the sending and receiving information is present on the order page of the monthly Japanese box.

It's a good sign!

In 99% of the cases, it means the postman has tried to deliver your box but was unsuccessful, so the box is back to the post office of your city.

To receive your precious box of japanese snacks, you have to go to the post office, and give them your tracking number. They will also check your ID card, so make sure to bring it.

Fingers crossed but we still have a delivery success rate of 99.5% since November 2020.

If the package does not reach its final recipient - wrong address or a package that has waited too long at the post office - it is returned to Japan and will arrive within 1-3 months.

We will be able to resend the package to you once it is back in Japan, but we will charge you a share of the shipping cost depending on the reason for the first failure.

One way to avoid delivery problems is to give us your phone number and let your postman / concierge know that you are expecting a package from Japan.
